Heavy rains that have been falling this week have saturated the ground and pushed streams to overflow.
Several streams along Village Road inundated the drains and flowed over the road, causing slight damage in a number of places. On Friday afternoon road crews were busy unblocking drains and clearing the road.
Environment Canada is predicting rain throughout the weekend right through to Monday, with a mix of sun and cloud, and flurries from Tuesday to Thursday.
For tonight rain between 15 and 25 millimetres is expected to fall in Kitimat, with 10 millimetres forecast for Saturday.
