Naylor heads from Moncton, N.B to Kitimat for lead role

The Kitimat Saax Junior A Hockey Club announced Chris Naylor as it’s GM and Head Coach for the inaugural 2022-23 hockey season. Naylor will be relocating immediately to Kitimat from Moncton, NB.

His coaching background includes building successful elite programs from scratch, managing and coaching top ranked Elite AAA U15 and U18 teams in Ontario, coaching Ontario Senior AAA with the Hamilton Steelhawks, and coaching with the Ontario U17 Program of Excellence.

“Sometimes the stars align,” said GMHL West Executive Director Dr. Derek Prue. “For the GHML and the community of Kitimat to be able to secure Coach Naylor for its inaugural season is amazing. He has initiated, coached and run so many successful programs; we are excited to see how he leads the new team in Kitimat this season.”

Naylor is also pleased with the appointment.

“I am excited to begin building a new Program in an expanding location of the GMHL West Division. I look forward to meeting and embracing the community, and developing a competitive Junior A Team in Kitimat,” Naylor said.
