Shames Mountain turned into Shredville March 5 and 6, with 55 skiers and boarders hitting the slopes.

Saturday was the 12th annual Ruins Cup and was a family oriented occasion with contestants of all ages participating.

Competitors lucked out with 22 centimetres of fresh snow on the mountain and clear, calm skies for the event.

Sunday was a family day with fun activities, crafts and goodies for children.

A good number of volunteers also turned out for the event to help provide fun and safe racing.

This is the first Shredville weekend hosted at Shames. It was created to provide a fun weekend celebrating the area’s local ski hill.
