Kitimat RCMP investigating stabbing

A person has been treated for stab wounds after confronting people making noise outside his home.

The Kitimat RCMP are investigating a stabbing in Kitimat.

On July 18 at 12:15 a.m., a person hearing a disturbance outside his home on Columbia Avenue went outside and confronted some young males. Two or three ran off, but one of the group apparently decided to challenge the man and the man ended up stabbed in the chest during the fight.

The victim was treated at Kitimat General Hospital.

The suspect, who fled before police arrived, has been described as a Caucasian male in his twenties.
