It is with profound sadness the family of William "Bill" Franklin announce his passing on April 21, 2021 at the age of 66 years.
Known as "Scruff" by friends, family and softball teammates, he will lovingly be remembered as a down to earth, big hearted man who loved and treasured his family second to none. Interests throughout his life included fishing, hunting, playing guitar, woodwork and softball.
Born in Saskatchewan, raising hell in his younger years in the Prince George area with life long friends, Bill lived, worked and played softball in Kitimat for over 20 years before retiring to Bear Lake.
He will continue to be loved and missed from afar by his children, Tracy (Darren), Jarrid (Kayla); grandchildren, Devin, Samara, Bradley, Annabelle; siblings Herb (Val), Cheryl, Donna, Beverly (James), Joan, Douglas, Marilyn (Wayne), Kelly, Norman (Barb), Heather, Robert, Lisa (Gord); nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
He was predeceased by his parents William and Goldie; sisters Linda, Bonnie and Laurie.
He made an impression on so many lives and will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, memorial donations at that time may be made in Bill's name to the William Franklin Foundation, a legacy created to honor Bill and assist other cancer patients throughout their health journey.
