March 12, 1964 - January 26, 2023
In loving memory ~
Wendy was born in Kitimat on March 12, 1964, a third child for Wilfried and Heidi Oeste, and a sister for Sonja, Verena and Elby. She attended Nechako School and Mount Elizabeth until graduating in 1982. While in school she attended First Baptist Church and played volleyball and the flute in Band.
She then attended Bible College and UVIC, then switched to Early Childhood Education at Camosun. She loved working with children.
In November 1996, she married Vince Morneau and had Chantelle and Jeanelle. She was a devoted mother, even homeschooled for a time. She enjoyed new challenges such as selling products in home businesses, breeding rabbits, painting, and candle-making while still working at daycares. She also made many friendships throughout her life, marked with much laughter.
In 2018, she moved to Sooke with her youngest daughter. At the beginning of the pandemic, she was diagnosed with cancer. Making a good recovery after chemotherapy, she returned to work in the spring of 2021. Unfortunately, her cancer was again detected in March 2022. Her many friends supported her both physically and spiritually. She fought to stay with her daughters but sadly lost and passed on January 26, 2023, with Chantelle and Jeanelle by her side, two months after her dad, Wilfried, had passed.
She loved to visit Kitimat and chose to be interred here alongside her maternal grandparents and dad. She leaves her two daughters, her mom Heidi, her three siblings: Sonja (Henry) Zukowski, Verena (Jim) Hepting, and Elby Oeste as well as many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
She is missed greatly.
