It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of Vivian Wilken. Vivian passed away in the early hours of Friday, June 28th at the age of 89 in the care of the amazing staff of the Mountainview Lodge in Kitimat BC.
Vivian was born Vivian Verna Malakoff in Fort Pelly Saskatchewan. She is predeceased by her husband David, and her father Fred, mother Tania (Teena), brother Casper and two sisters, Lillian and Olivia. She is survived by her two sons Brent and Jeff, granddaughters Teah and Breanne, great-granddaughter Olivia, and beloved niece Barb.
In September of 1956, Vivian began teaching at Nechako School where she remained until her retirement. She taught
many different grades, but soon settled into her labour of love - Kindergarten.
She loved dogs, horses, birds, children, family, friends, and time at the cabin.
She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A memorial will be held at the First United Church in Kitimat at 2 pm, Friday the 19th of July, 2019.
