1976-2021 ~ Sally Hurst Irvine, who spent much of her childhood in Kitimat and graduated from Mount Elizabeth Secondary School, died on March 29, 2021, at Vancouver General Hospital from heart and stroke-related problems. She was 44.
She graduated from Douglas College, in New Westminster, B.C., and for the following 17 years, she devoted herself to her career as a registered psychiatric nurse, in the Lower Mainland, Edmonton and Prince George.
Born in Rochester, N.Y., in 1976, she was the daughter of John Hurst and the brother of Martin Hurst, both of whom live with their families in Langley, B.C.
Also surviving are her husband, Colin Irvine, and her son, Austin, both of Prince George, B.C. She was predeceased by her mother, Virginia, in 1999.
The family would like to thank the following health care professionals who provided much-appreciated help during Sally's final illness: Dr. Nazerali-Maitland and Dr. Turner, of the Intensive Care Unit, Dr. Stephanus Ferreira, her family doctor, and Dr. Heidi Mader; as well as the staff social workers, all of the University Hospital of Northern B.C., in Prince George.
Burial will follow at a later date, at Gardens of Gethsemani Catholic Cemetery, in Surrey, B.C.
