Ruggero “Roger” Trogi 1928 - 2008

of Kitimat, BC passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2008 at Kitimat General Hospital at the age of 80 years.

Roger is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol; his daughter Debra (Andy) Oeste; his sons Rick (Susan), Gian (Sheri) and Perry (Rae-nel). He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Tina, Devin (Miranda), Kristin, Jenna, Tori, Renee (Jason), Robin (Kevin), Collin, Brittany, Derek, Corey, Antonio, Stacia, Dario, Gianna, Greg, Sam; and his great grandchildren Christopher, Noah, Alexis, Vaughn, Dayna and Mia; his two sisters and four brothers, most notably his brother Delfo (Judy).

Predeceased by his parents Gian Luiggi and Filomena Trogi, two sisters and three brothers.

Roger was born in Modena, Italy on January 21, 1928. He emmigrated to Canada in 1952 and married his sweeheart Carol Gallant on December 11, 1954 in Moosejaw, SK. There they lived for twelve years and in that time were blessed with the birth of their four children. The family relocated to Kitimat, BC in 1966 where Roger began working at Alcan until his retirement in 1990. His passions in life were first and foremost his family. He also had a love for music, bowling and was an avid sports fan. Roger touched so many lives in a unique and special way.

On behalf of the family we wish to express our gratitude to Dr. Huang and the staff at the Kitimat General Hospital who took such good care of him. Also a special thanks to Father Pier for his prayers and for the generosity and prayers of so many others.

A memorial service was held at Christ the King Parish on June 12, 2008. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Kidney Foundation.
