Roy was born at Loon Lake, Saskatchewan on September 15, 1940 to proud parents Arthur and Marcelle Hill. When Roy’s father went overseas Roy and his mother moved to Vancouver, BC. Arthur returned in 1946 and the family remained in British Columbia, living in Vancouver, North Bend, Armstrong and Aldergrove. In 1963 Roy journeyed to Kitimat where he had planned a short stay.

Their firstborn, Angie, arrived in 1971 followed by Steven in 1974. Roy along with his family had many adventures boating, fishing, hunting and cabin building. Roy made many great friends through his work and recreation.
