In Loving Memory ~ Ron was born in Oxford County, Ontario and like many of his generation left school after grade 8 to help on the farm. At the age of 21 he joined the RCAF and shortly after met and married Marg. He served for 13 years and his ever-growing family followed him to London Ontario, North Bay Ontario, Greenwood Nova Scotia, Dublin Ontario and finally Shelburne Nova Scotia.
After leaving the RCAF they moved to Phelps township in Ontario where Ron built a house and home for their growing family on property that was homesteaded by Marg's parents in the 20's. Many of his older nieces and nephews will remember wild rides back to the "old house" in one of Ron's old jalopies.
It was here that Ron began his new career as an Electrician, a job that would eventually take them to Kitimat, B.C. where he worked at Eurocan and Alcan until retirement. After he retired, they settled in Cache Creek, B.C. for many years and finally at Williams Lake Seniors Home.
Ron & Marg were married for 68 years and together raised 5 children. Their shared love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and travel provided them with a variety of adventures, an endless collection of stories and brought many lifelong friends into their lives.
Ron was a hands-on guy not afraid to tackle any project from fixing the smallest appliance to building a house. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He will be missed by many.
In Ron's memory donations may be made to the B.C. Lung Association or the Canadian Lung Association.
