February 23, 2019
The family of Robert "Robbie" and Joan King of Courtenay, BC wish to announce their passing on February 23 and March 7, 2019 respectively, aged 85. They will be greatly missed by sons Richard (Maril Moore) and Scott (Cheryl); grandchildren Meghan (Tim), Rob (Dana), and Karastin (Curtis); great-grandchildren Zane, Madeline and Beckett; Joan's sister Sally Martin and all of Robbie's relatives in Scotland.

Robbie was an avid fisherman and loved nature. He was also a talented artist and his paintings are hanging on many walls across Canada and Scotland. He also discovered a talent for baking and produced the greatest muffins, cookies and pies. His shortbread cookies will be missed at Christmas.

Joan loved being involved in the community. She volunteered for countless events, committees, auxiliaries and book sales to name a few. Two of her most favourite things were playing Bridge and reading, both of which she could do for hours.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on 3A at North Valley Hospital Comox Valley, as well as Drs. Howard, Reggeler and Holden for their exceptional care.

At their request, no funeral service will be held.

In memory of Robbie, spend a quiet moment enjoying the beauty and peace of nature. To honour Joan, please consider donating your time to an organization in your community.
