Renate was an adventurous soul, following her dreams and living her life filled with optimism and laughter. She brought joy and kindness to those around her.
Renate came to Kitimat, BC, in 1956 with her soul-mate Theodor. There she embraced her passion for nature and the outdoors. She raised 3 children and taught them to love life. Renate loved to travel and experienced many wonderful trips with family and friends. She was an avid gardener, loved to read and had a passion for good food.
After her husband passed away in 2001, Renate moved to Richmond, BC to be closer to her children. She made many new friends and was often seen in Steveston at Prickly Pear and at the Terra Nova Starbucks. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Michaela (Mark), Andy (Jayne), Tina (Cam), grandchildren, Katherine, Ethan, Jordan and Tara. She will be greatly missed by her dear sister, Helga, who was a very big part of her life.
The family would also like to thank all the people in Renate's life who were always willing to lend a hand. She valued her relationships with you all. A celebration of life will be held at the Richmond Funeral Home on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 2 pm. We invite all who touched Renate's life to join us.
