In Loving Memory of Norman Craft

January 17, 1935 - November 25, 2010

Norm was born in Jansen, Saskatchewan on January 17, 1935.

He became a mechanic and moved to Kitimat in 1955. He returned to Lanigan in 1959 to marry Verna Herman and they moved to Kitimat, where he worked at Alcan until he retired. Together they raised four children, Cindy, David, Darryl and Trevor.

In 1984 his wife Verna passed away leaving him a widower at a young age.

Norm visited many countries after retirement, but his favourite was Mexico.

He kept active until various health issues eventually forced him to slow down. In his last few years he could be found sitting with friends outside the Dragon Café. He loved working at Alcan and was proud to have been there 35 years.

Norm leaves behind his four children; daughter Cindy (Garry) Schuss; sons David (Sarlat), Darryl (Monica) and Trevor (Alexandra); grandchildren Derrek, Celina, Emily, Mia, Nathan, Amanda, Rachel, Diana and Georgia; and one great granddaughter Cahlysta.

Norm was predeceased by his parents Amos and Mary, brother Joe, and wife Verna.

A memorial service was held December 1, 2010 at the First United Church in Kitimat. He will be laid to rest in Lanigan, Saskatchewan.

What we’d give if we could say,

Hello, Dad, in the same old way.

To hear your voice, and see your smile,

To sit with you and chat awhile.

So if you who have a father,

Cherish him with care,

For you’ll never know the heartache,

Till you see his vacant chair.
