The family of Maria Ferreira is saddened to announce her passing on June 30, 2024, at the age of 92.
Maria was born in Sao Miguel, Portugal. She met and married Manuel on February 14, 1959. They had three sons: Mario (1959), John (1965), and Carlos (1966).
Manuel immigrated to Canada in 1966 to build a better life for his family, and Maria and their sons joined him in Kitimat in 1969. Maria was a devoted wife and mother and cherished watching her grandsons grow.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Manuel, her sons Mario (Karren), John (Lori), and Carlos, as well as grandsons Logan (Brandi), Terence, Noah, Adam, and her sister Fatima.
Maria's funeral service was held on July 8, 2024, at Christ the King Church.
