Maria Cristina Raposo passed away peacefully at KGH Mulitilevel Care in Kitimat August 12, 2008.
Maria Cristina was born in Candelaria, Azores and emmigrated to Canada in 1968 to join her children.
On June 25, 2008 she had celebrated her 104th birthday with family and friends.
Maria Cristina was predeceased by her husband, Joao J. Raposo, son Jorge Raposo and grandson Joao da Costa.
Maria Cristina is survived by her sons Manuel J. Raposo (Maria), Kitimat; Joao J. Raposo (Teresa), Calgary; twenty grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren.
‘Avo’ is remembered for her great faith, commitment to God and love for her family.
The funeral service was held August 16 at Christ the King Church and she was laid to rest at the Kitimat Cemetery.
The family thanks the staff at KGH, Multilevel Care for the extraordinary care ‘Avo’ received.
We would also like to extend our gratitude and great appreciation to Father Pier, the Bereavement Committee at Christ the King Church and to many friends for their support during this difficult time.
