In loving memory ~
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Stenson. Margaret was born in Bracken, Saskatchewan and grew up on the farm with 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Margaret had a great love of horses and enjoyed riding them and using them as transport for school.
She met Glenn while working in Frontier and after going to teachers college she moved to Shaunavon to teach and it was there that Margaret and Glenn were married. After moving around Saskatchewan, they moved to Kitimat in 1972 with their three children.
As an active environmentalist, Margaret was the co-founder of The Douglas Channel Watch, and she was also known as an avid painter.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 64 years, Glenn Stenson, son Daniel Stenson (Nancy), daughter Laurel (Rob), daughter Marla and grandchildren Eric, Bradley, Michael, Ryan, Sarah, Adam, Leah and Victoria. She also leaves 10 great grandchildren.
Margaret would not want anyone to be sad about her departure but would want you to remember the love and good times she had. She was a wonderful person with a big heart and will be missed terribly. Per her wishes, there will not be a service. Her family honoured her memory well with a small celebration of her life and scattered her ashes where she most wanted to be.
