April 1, 2021
1959-2021 ~ It is with profound sadness the family of Lynda Bartel announce her peaceful and beautiful passing on the evening of April 1, 2021 surrounded by her loving family in Vancouver, BC.
Lynda was an absolutely beautiful soul who without fail would put others' needs ahead of her own. She always said "there are others worse off than me". Her light shone bright. So bright that on her final journey anyone who had the fortune of being in her presence were simply drawn to her. Lynda had a gift that cannot be understood. A truly angelic soul.
Lynda had a series of life threatening health issues over the last twenty seven years, yet she never wavered in her positive attitude. Her glass was always half full. Live, Laugh, Love was her motto.
She was very spiritual and her "doors" were always open with the wee Irish Witch in her, and over time she managed to open all of our doors as well. She led us to greener pastures where Lynda's sky is cloudless and the sun shines brightly no matter what.
"She's a balance of strength and femininity. She's a blend of silly and seriousness. She's a dreamer with her feet still on the ground. The kind of person that can find sun rays in a rainstorm. She is a once in a lifetime woman"
Lynda is survived by loving husband and soulmate Ralph, daughters Sheena (Trevor), Stacey (Randy), son Riley, precious granddaughters Carly and Sadey, sister Gloria (Clayton), brother Ivan, father Jim Scott. Predeceased by her wonderful mother Minnie Scott.
The family would like to extend their deepest heartfelt appreciation to all healthcare professionals @KGH, Mills Memorial, P.G. Regional Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital for the comfort, care and compassion shown for Lynda over her ten month journey. There are far too many to mention. You all know who you are.
Lynda's final wish that there be no service and her ashes to be scattered alongside her husband's at a location treasured by them. Cremation was in Vancouver, BC.
