Lorna Jean Jay passed away peacefully at the age of 102 after living a happy and full life.

Born in Clarke City, Quebec on

June 25, 1908, Lorna spent her formative years in Lacombe, Alberta. After graduating in nursing from the University of Alberta in 1931 she worked in nearby hospitals and later joined the RCAF.

After the war she moved to BC and it was in Port Alberni that she met and married Ralph Jay. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother to sons Gordon and Douglas. Both Ralph and Gordon predeceased her.

Lorna came to live with her family in Kitimat in 2003. She enjoyed playing Bridge and meeting “younger” new friends. These friends became an important part of her life - thank you all for being there for her. She had a remarkable memory and a quick wit for her 102 years.

She leaves her loving son Doug (Susan); grandchildren Krista (Norm), Robert (Terra) and Shannon, Tori and Michael (California); nephew Greg (Sylvia) Husband; niece Leslie Alexander; and numerous great grandchildren.

As a resident of Mountain View Lodge in Kitimat for the last year and a half, she received excellent care. We extend a very big thank you to Dr. Huang and the entire staff at Mountain View Lodge for their professional and compassionate care. Also, to all the wonderful volunteers of the Hospital Auxiliary, a sincere thank you for your many acts of kindness and for all the hours put in each day to enrich the lives of all the residents in MLC.

She was admired and loved by many;

She will be missed.

There will be no service by request.
