It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Loretta Marie Riel who died peacefully at home in Kitimat BC on April 20, 2024.
Her lengthy battle with medical issues in recent years showed her courage in facing life with her beautiful smile and positive outlook.
Loretta dedicated her entire life to caring for others. Not only was she incredible at caring for her family; Loretta spent 30 years as a care aide in the hospital where she worked tirelessly, caring for others.
When not working, Loretta could always be found down by the river with a fishing rod in her hand. She had a passion for the great outdoors, animals and bringing people together.
Loretta was known for her famous cabbage rolls and perogies and her ability to make everyone around her feel loved.
She encouraged everyone to live life to the fullest and embrace every moment. Loretta was the world's biggest Elvis fan, with an impressive memorabilia collection.
Loretta's passing has her family "All Shook Up" however we are at peace knowing she was "Returned to Sender" to her Graceland in the sky.
Loretta is survived by her loving husband Ted Riel, her children Rob Riel, Kathy Riel and Kim Leeder, her grandchildren Owen Leeder, Journie Ziegler, Jenna Leeder, and great granddaughter Alexis Bourget.
Loretta's Celebration of Life will be held in Chilliwack BC, date to be determined.
