1949- 2016

Linda ended the battle, peacefully on September 23rd. She was very strong and endured so many treatments. Our family is very appreciative of the care from all the doctors, nurses and medical staff-especially Doctor’s Howard, Camacho, Bowler, who took on the challenges of the last 6 years. Linda leaves us many good memories, and a large, beautiful garden which was her passion in life, next to family and friends. Surviving her, are husband Phil, son Michael (Lisa), daughter Kari, sister Carole (Andy) sister in law Lynne (Bob) and her very special Grandchildren, Kaidyn, Kalliyah, Emilie. Linda also leaves behind cousins, nieces and nephews and many good friends. Phil and Linda have been together since Courtenay High. Education and careers took them to Vancouver then Thompson, Manitoba where Linda established a new position in norsing. Then the move to Kitimat where Linda worked in majestic jewlers, real estate, museum, and school board. She was a stay at home Mom with Michael and Kari, but volunteered for 27 years with Girl Guides-retiring as District Area Commissioner. Ironically, Linda headed the Kitimat cancer office for 10 years, helping others. She would occasionally escape the Kitimat snow to spend some time with her Mom in Arizona. Kitimat was our home for 30 years and Linda has so many wonderful, lifetime friends from that period . On Retirement, Phil and Linda moved to Little River. Linda joined the neighborhood coffee club and made many new friends and well as connecting with old friends. Linda was very creative and involved with stained glass work. Also a great Genealogy researcher, she published a 387 page book on her family history. She has made our world a better place. Family and friends were always first. Linda has requested no service, but a gathering in her beautiful garden sometime in future. No flowers please, but a donation to Hospice would be appreciated. We will miss her so very much-as she would say it’s only “By for now”
