Leif Christian Larsen
February 16, 1952 - September 10, 2011
The Larsen family sorrowfully announces the sudden passing of our beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and brother after a difficult but short battle with cancer.
Born in Denmark, Leif immigrated to Canada as a child with his family. He learned English, became a Canadian citizen, and graduated from MESS. After joining the work force, he married and raised a family in Kitimat. In addition to his 31 year career driving bus, he enjoyed community service work, including a term as Councillor for the District of Kitimat, and serving with the 4th Canadian Rangers Patrol Group.
An avid car enthusiast, many will remember Leif as a rosy-cheeked, smiling, down-to-earth fellow who loved to talk with people from all walks of life. He leaves behind his parents Hans and Gudrun; Carol, his wife of 38 years; daughters Coralee and Sarah (Stephen); brother Finn (Anna); sister Susan (Dave); grandchildren Mataya, Jacob and Breighton; and many other friends and family in Canada and Denmark.
Leif always felt very blessed to live in the same community as his parents all his life, and grateful for all the love and friendship he shared in Kitimat.
