The Guy and Latham families are saddened to announce the passing of Kathy, following a courageous battle against cancer. Kathy’s determination and grace during her lengthy illness is an inspiration to her family and all who knew her. We were blessed to have Kathy loved and cared for by Kim during this time.
It is with profound sadness that the Guy family announces the unexpected passing of Kim, a short five weeks after saying good-bye to Kathy. Kim gave tirelessly of himself to Kathy and their children. Kim is deeply loved and respected by all his family for his compassion, his sense of humour and ability to find something positive in everything.
Services were held in Kitimat, April 23, 2009 for Kathy at the First United Church and June 1, 2009 for Kim at the Royal Canadian Legion Br 250.
Memories of Kathy and Kim live on in the hearts of their children Michael Latham (Alanna), Corey Guy, Grande Prairie AB, and Amber Lukow (Jordan), Kitimat BC. Lovingly remembered and saying farewell is Emmi Guy of Summerland BC, Tim Guy (Donna), Fort McMurray AB, Bob Guy (Catherine) and Erin Guy, Prince George BC, Ted Guy, Summerland BC, Steven Latham (Donna), Nanaimo BC. Farewell hugs and kisses for Nanny and Grandpa from Aidan and Keira Latham. Also sharing in our loss are families throughout BC, Alberta, Ontario and Australia.
The families sincerely thank Rev. Don Holmes for his genuine spirit and guidance and to everyone in the community for their various supports and services for both Kathy and Kim’s care.
Donations in memory of Kathy are appreciated to the Canadian Cancer Society; in memory of Kim to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or The Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.
