April 18, 2021
Joseph B. Farina, with almost 90 years of life, husband for 67 years, father of 3 children, Grandpa to seven, and Great-Grandpa to 7 more, died on Sunday, 18 April, 2021 of complications, after surgery at the Terrace hospital.
Left to mourn, treasure our memories and the love he had for all of us are his wife, Geraldine (Kraft); children and their spouses: Wayne and June, Elaine and Tony, Gerald and Tracey; grandchildren and their spouses: Jennifer and Rick, Andrew and Jolene, Curtis and Rebecca, Kathrine, Daleela, Quinton and Rebecca, Kaylee and Travis; and great-grandchildren: Addison, Olivia, Paxton, Aubrey, Lily, Brenton and Hudson.
Joe was born near Abbotsford, BC, the eldest child of Antonio Farina and Anna Harriet Straiton, and leaves 4 siblings, and 10 nieces and nephews and their families to remember him. Also surviving him are a brother-in-law, and a sister-in-law, their spouses and children. His parents, the wife of a brother, the husband and daughter of a sister, a brother of his wife, and her parents have died before him.
He arrived in Kitimat in 1954 'for just a few years' and will be here forever, his ashes now scattered on Robinson Ridge. Many might remember him through his employment at the smelter at first in the Pot-lines, then later in the Vehicle Training department or as a Reservoir Technician, or from his involvement in Minor Hockey, Boy Scouts, and the Snowmobile Club.
