It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Josef Feldhoff.
Josef was born in Cologne, Germany to parents, Hugo and Helene Feldhoff. He arrived in Halifax on May 3, 1955 and eventually settled in Kitimat on May 7, 1956. In Kitimat, he met and married his beloved wife Gertrud and together they raised their four children. Josef worked for Alcan until his retirement on August 1, 1992.
Predeceased by his parents Hugo and Helene, son Martin, and brothers- in-law Josef and Richard.
Josef is survived and sadly missed by his wife of 59 years, Gertrud and children: Megan (Ray), Mario (Brenda), Markus (Ana) of Kitimat, and daughter Patricia (Philip) of Prince Rupert. Opa to treasured grandchildren, Carolyn, Michelle, Lauren (Simon), Karter (Ashley), Emily (Jarett), Alexandra (Cameron), Justine, Camron, and Olivia. In the last two years, Josef was also blessed with two great grandchildren, Brinley and Nicolai, whom he adored.
In Germany, he is survived and missed by siblings Magdalene, Theo (Brigitte), Elly, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass will be celebrated on January 5, 2019 at 1 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church in Kitimat. Internment to follow at the Kitimat Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his son Martin. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Josef's memory to a charity of your choice.
