Jose Barbara Tome was born on November 21, 1925 in Quarteira, Portugal and died on December 24, 2017 in Surrey, BC.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 beautiful years, Adelina Batista Tome, his sons, Alvaro and John, daughter-in-law, Laurie, and his grandchildren, Keanne, Jaryd, Connor and Kira.
Jose emigrated to Canada in 1957 and joined his brother, Horacio, in Kitimat. He worked at Alcan for 31 years as a cable splicer, and a crane, winch and equipment operator.
He will be sorely missed by his immediate family, his extended family and his many friends. His family would like to thank Dr. Crossley for the wonderful health care he provided and the many health professionals that assisted Jose in his journey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. January 4, 2018 at St. Bernadette Parish, 6543 -132 Street, Surrey, B.C. Entombment at Gardens of Gethsemani Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
