John McLachlan
1930 to 2014
John McLachlan, 84, of Parksville, BC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Nanaimo Hospital. Born in Renfrew, Scotland, he came to Canada in 1953 and lived most of his life in Kitimat, BC, where he was employed with the Aluminum Company of Canada.
John leaves behind his wife, Alvina, daughter Jean (Mark) and grandsons Paul and Lachlan.
With some eccentricities of manner and some faults of irritability of disposition, he was a loving father, husband and friend...a scholar and a true-hearted gentleman whose virtues will be remembered long after his faults have been forgotten.
