In Memory of John (Jack) O’Connor
August 24, 1939 - October 23, 2006
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bill Rice and Kelly Marsh. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your selfless act of friendship and dedication to an old friend. This meant a great deal to us.
On Saturday, September 8, 2007 John was taken up Mt. Elizabeth by Bill and Kelly, and his ashes spread, as was his wish, with the ashes of his faithful friend Skipper (Spike). It was a beautiful day and Mt. Elizabeth was magnificent.
Our granddaughter Jolissa and I said our farewells at the foot of the mountain. We performed a Wiccan ceremony with a cross-over to Shamanic to send John on his way, releasing him from this earthly realm. Jolissa added to the ceremony. She placed pictures of herself and her grandpa into a fire. This was so that he would have something to remember her by on his way up the mountain. It was her own idea. She thought that if she burned pictures, the smoke would carry them up to heaven.
I would also like to thank all those people who helped us throughout this past year. I don’t know what I would have done without you.
