In Loving Memory of
John Hofer
November 19, 1927 to May 9, 2017
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of John Hofer after a long struggle with many health problems. John was born in Olschen, Germany where he grew up with five brothers and sisters. He immigrated to Canada in 1954 and spent one year in Saskatoon before landing in Kitimat. He worked at Alcan from 1955 until his retirement in 1992.
John kept busy with gardening (his number one hobby), biking around town and daily coffee with his dear friends.
John is survived by his caring and loving wife, Elsa, daughters Frances and Bettina, son Oliver, five grandchildren, Kevin, Erin, Evan, Jaedyn and Camryn, one sister and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
John was loved by all who knew him and will leave a void in many lives. Knowing that his long struggle is over makes the burden of his loss a bit lighter.
Rest in Peace until we see each other again.
A small celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
