August 14, 1935 - July 17, 2020
With broken hearts ....and overwhelming sadness we share the passing of John Caldwell Schroyer on JuIy 17, 2020 in the Arrow Lakes Hospital Nakusp, B.C.
a.k.a Jack-Jackson-Gunny & Sgt.
Born in Spangler Pennsylvania August 14, 1935 to James and Bernadine Schroyer. Brother to Francis E Schroyer, Husband to Bonnie Lynn Schroyer, Father to Bernadine Schroyer and Jonelle Schroyer (Nick), Step-Father to Jocelyn Lamon (Jeff ) and Nicholas Lamon (Carey Ann).
Grandpa to John Allen Picunyk, Rebecca and Koen Vavrek. Pap to Darren Morgan.
As a young US Marine he leaves lifelong friends behind grieving. Semper Fi. Once A Marine, Always a Marine.
Jack was held in the highest regard by his Teaching Colleagues in several Kitimat schools from 1967-1995 as well as his students.
The promise of outstanding hunting and fishing brought him from Pottstown, Pennsylvania to Kitimat B.C. and not to disappoint.
He made many great friends who shared the same love of the outdoor sports. He was always ready to take his children and grandchildren on those same outdoor adventures.
Having moved to the little Village of Nakusp on the Arrow Lakes in Nov. 2019, leaving so many friends behind, we have chosen to return to Kitimat perhaps in the Spring of 2021 for a Celebration of Life with the hopes the travel and gathering restrictions have relaxed.
This too will give us time to catch our breath and heal from Jack's rapid passing from the aggressive cancer.
We thank you for your kindness and prayers and the part you all played in his life.
He was blessed. If he touched your life, remember you too had touched his. To the Doctors and Nursing Staff at the Arrow Lakes Hospital for their compassionate care. We thank you.
In Lieu of Donations.....continue to be Generous, Kind and Understanding.
