It is with sadness that the family of Joao Marques Ribeiro announces his passing on October 21, 2020 at the age of 66.
Joao will be sadly missed by his wife of 40 years Margaret and daughter Melissa.
He also leaves behind his two siblings Gracinda (Armindo), Idalina, mother-in-law, sister and brother-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.
Joao was born in Portugal and came to Canada as a young man. He worked for Alcan where he retired in the summer of 2009.
He enjoyed doing dinners on the BBQ, road trips to Montreal for family visits, fishing and hunting, watching the Montreal Canadiens and his soccer team Benfica with his faithful dog Rufus.
Joao fought his battle with a heart of a lion.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Huang, Kitimat General Hospital, Mills Memorial and St. Paul's Hospitals for their outstanding care and support during this difficult time.
The immediate family had a private service.
