In Loving Memory

It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Mother

Jean (Jennie) Atamanchuk on October 9, 2007

Quietly of a “Broken Heart” at home in her sleep.

Born June 23, 1935, in Glendon, AB as Jennie Osoba. Jean lived happily in Kitimat for 47 years and was retired from Kitimat General Hospital for 17 of those years.

A loving wife and mother, Jean was predeceased 5 weeks earlier, by Mike, her husband of 52 years. Jean is survived by four children and ten grandchildren, Joe of Smithers, BC, Richard and Lori (James, Kelly, Emily and Madelyn) of Kelowna, BC, Debbie and Gord (Donovan and Catrina) Boutette of Edmonton, AB, and Sherry and Alfredo (Alexandra, Lucas, Marcus and Adriana) Galamini of Kitimat, BC. Jean is also survived by one sister, Mary (Robert) Tomusiak of Edmonton, AB and many nieces and nephews throughout BC and Alberta.

Mom had many friends and acquaintances that she established and nurtured over the years in Kitimat. A special thanks to all who have reached out with love and sympathy over these difficult times. Especially Yvonne and Rose who went out of their way to be with her. Jean will be interred next to her husband in a family plot at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Iron River, AB on October 20, 2007.

A memorial will be held for both Mom and Dad in Kitimat at a future date yet to be determined (Sometime in November). In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice. (The Kitimat Humane Society Animal Shelter needs help)

We are really going to miss you, Mom.
