We are devastated ~ a treasured daughter, wife, mother and friend, Janet has left us far too soon.
Despite her strength and courage, she lost her battle with depression.
The cherished daughter of John and Betty Berger, Janet was born and raised in Kitimat. After marrying her soulmate Steve, they moved to Brentwood Bay, where they raised their two sons, Joseph and Jordan, whom she adored. Janet devoted her 30-year teaching career to the students of LÁU, WELNEW Elementary School. We will forever miss her creativity, intelligence, laughter and kindness.
Our lives go on without you,
but nothing is the same.
We have to hide our heartache when someone speaks your name.
Sad are the hearts that love you,
silent are the tears that fall, living out our lives without you is the hardest part of all.
The special years will not return
when we were all together,
But with the love within our hearts,
you will walk with us forever.

A Mass to celebrate Janet’s life will be held Saturday, March 11 at 11a.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church in Kitimat.
A private memorial service will be held in Victoria, BC.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice as Janet dearly loved her team as well as her work nurturing and supporting children.
