It is with sadness we announce the passing of James (Jim) Moore on June 8, 2019. He was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan almost 82 years ago.
Jim is survived by his wife Gloria, daughters Karren (Mario), Shelly (Paul) and son Brent, grandchildren; Logan, Terrance, Noah, Marina and Kaytlyn, sister Francis (Dale), sister- in-law Catherine (Wayne) and two half brothers and a sister. Family was his first love, then camping and holidays.
Jim came to Kitimat in the spring of 1963 to work for Alcan. Jim loved Kitimat, always volunteering his time to help run C-shift Social Club and hockey team, helped coach minor hockey. The Kiwanis Club was a large part of his life serving as secretary, president and later lieutenant Governor for the Northern Area. He served on the Kiwanis Village Board for many years and was one of the driving forces for Delta King Place. In the last years of his life he served on committees at First United Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019, 2 pm at the First United Church in Kitimat. Donations in memory of Jim can be made to Kitimat General Hospital Foundation.
