It is with deep sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Ian McGregor Berrisford Jr., our treasured son, father, brother and grandfather. Ian was a proud father of Marc (Jaqueline) and Sarah (John), and loved his grandson, Kash, with all his heart and soul. He will be terribly missed by his parents, Ian Sr. and Betty Berrisford, and sisters Laura (Alan), Catherine (Allan) and Kelli (Glenn).
Ian lived and worked in Kitimat for almost 50 years, working at Alcan as a Millwright for 43 of those years, and was well respected by everyone who was lucky enough to know and work with him. He lived a full life and followed his passions. As a teenager and young man he played his drums with such joy, practicing with his band in the basement and playing the occasional gig. In high school he started building and rebuilding cars and motorcycles, often several at a time, and never stopped. In his 30s Ian started racing motorcycles, and he was hooked for life, spending all of his vacations traveling around the province to compete in drag races. In all his pursuits, Ian made close friends who supported and shared his dreams, and to all of you we are truly grateful.
We will remember forever Ian's laughter, his bear hugs, his one-liners, and his kindness.
