Heather Crockart

June 28, 1947 to July 14, 2010

Heather was born, and lived, in Ocean Falls BC, and later in Port Alberni BC. Heather and her family, the Tewnions, moved back to Ocean Falls where she met and married her husband, Pete Crockart. Their children Richard and Kim were born and raised in Ocean Falls, before the family later moved to Kitimat in 1971.

Heather contributed much to this community as a childcare worker at Kitimat City High School for 18 years.

Approximately 30 years ago Heather was diagnosed with MS and suffered silently with this disease. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and socializing with her many friends.

After a long battle with MS, Heather’s body was no longer able to carry the load. We are forever grateful that she could be at home with family and friends until her last breath.

Heather was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Netta Tewnion, her husband, Pete, her brother Jack, her brothers-in-law Tullis Lawrence and Don Ong. She leaves behind her children Kim (Paul) Amado and Richard (Eileen) as well as her grandchildren who had a special place in her heart: Sierra, Dana, Madison, Blaine, Quinn and Zoey. Also bereaved are her sisters, Lesley Lawrence, Margie (Reg) Corbin, Lynn (Jack) MacGregor, her mother in law, Gert Crockart, and the Ong Family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Huang, Home Support, the Palliative Care nurses, the pharmacists at Shoppers Drug Mart and the many friends who have dropped by to say goodbye to Mom and offering their kind words to the family.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Heather’s memory would be appreciated.
