February 21, 1961 - January 22, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce Joe passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Friday, January 22. Born in Scilla, Reggio Calabria, Italy on February 21, 1961, he was only in his 60th year. Joe was a kind, gentle, devoted man and is survived by his loving wife Ingrid Niwranski.
Predeceased by parents Annuziato and Francesca and his sister Giovanna, Joe will be adoringly remembered by Tony Lagana (Carmela), Mario Lagana (Carin), Maria Cranford (Wendell) and Franco Lagana (Joanna). He will also be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, and all of his extended family.
Giuseppe was fortunate to retire young from his career at Rio Tinto (Alcan) before moving from B.C. to Ontario. He was an avid golfer and a huge sports fan of the Bruins & the Steelers. He loved watching films, playing cards and he enjoyed cottage life, being out on the water and soaking up the sun.
At Giuseppe's request, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place in the summer of 2021 in Cambridge, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, donations to your local Food Bank, Homeless Shelter or hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.
