On July 10, 2023, George Streeter died in the long-term care ward of Ponoka General Hospital in Ponoka, Alberta, at the age of 91.
George Streeter was born on May 04, 1932, in Halifax County, Nova Scotia.
He enlisted & fought in the Korean War. When he arrived home, he became a Millwright, & joined the Free Masons, Shriners, & the Legion. He was very active with all 3 & his communities of Kitimat, BC, & Ponoka.
George is survived by his 4 daughters: Susan & Mark Brown, Anna & Niels Jensen, Rose & John Cheeks, and Linda & Mark Stevens. He is survived by many grandchildren & great-grandchildren, along with 6 sisters: Vivian, Barbara, Dorothy, Florence, Helen, & Carol.
He is preceded in death by the mother of his first 4 daughters, Jane.
George is also survived by his wife, Alexa Streeter, and his 3 daughters & son: Sandra & Wayne Chisholm, Thasis Dawe, Denise & Bobby Tucceri, Terry & Candace Streeter, and Jean & David Weibe.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Sarah; 3 brothers & 1 sister, Reginald, Henry, Gail, & one unnamed infant brother. He was also preceded in death by his son, Todd Dawe.
George loved a good cup of coffee at Tim Horton's with his friends & Mason buddies. George loved his dogs, family, & community, who all loved him right back. He always had a kind word or some type of joke for everyone.
George's family would like to extend their appreciation to the Ponoka General Hospital Auxiliary Ward for their love & care during his final years.
George's family would like to request no flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gladly accepted at the Ponoka General Hospital Long-Term Care Ward.
