It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow that we announce the passing of Fred Kropp on December 9th, 2021.
Fred was born in Bremen, Germany on July 8, 1947. He emigrated from Germany to Canada with his parents in 1960 to settle in Kitimat, BC. As a young man, he played soccer on several Kitimat teams. Fred loved travelling, was an avid hunter and enjoyed outdoor activities such as camping and skiing.
He was employed as a millwright at Alcan (Rio Tinto) for 37 years and retired at the age of 55.
Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle with a gentle soul and big heart. He will be terribly missed by his wife of 52 years Dagmar, his daughter Rhonda (Jeremy), grandson Elliot, nephew Glenn Thoma and niece Susan Trogi (Rick), his great nieces and nephews and all his friends. He is forever in our hearts.
As per Fred's wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Kitimat Community Humane Society.
