In Loving Memory ~
It is with deep sadness that our family announces the death of our brother Franco Tormene on August 20, 2023, after a tragic motor vehicle accident.
Franco was born on August 10, 1961, in Kitimat, BC. After graduation, Franco left home to attend University in Vancouver. Upon receiving his degree of Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University, Franco moved to 100 Mile House to work for Weldwood as an accountant.
Within his thirty-year career, Franco lived in Houston, Squamish, and Vancouver. Franco retired from West Fraser in September 2021. Upon his retirement, he moved back to Kitimat, BC, to be closer to family.
Family and friends were the greatest joys of Franco's life. He was genuine in his interactions with others. He had an infectious smile and a gentle spirit that made people feel that they were valued. We were truly blessed that Franco was a part of our lives.
Franco was predeceased by his parents Vladimiro and Elsa Tormene and is survived by his brother Ferruccio (Carol) and sister Nancy (Alan Sheil); nieces and nephews, Nichole Meeds (Darren), Lauryn, Raegan, Michael Tormene (Laurel) Benjamin, Hudson, Theresa Greenshields (Hayden) Milania, Sophia, Emily Sheil (Alysha), and Stewart Sheil (Lauren) Amelia.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, September 7th, at 1 p.m. at Christ the King Church in Kitimat, BC.
In lieu of flowers, if you would like to contribute, we will be installing a memorial bench in Franco's honour. For further details, please contact the family.
