It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of F. Bruce Vienneau on July 5, 2021 at his home in Kitimat BC.
Bruce was born in New Glasgow, NS to Fred (Butch) & the late Sheila Vienneau on June 23, 1966. He grew up in Stellarton, NS and later attended UCCB where he received his Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma. After graduation Bruce wrote for his Millwright ticket - something he was very proud of.
Other than his father, Bruce is survived by his wife of 32 years Bonnie, sons David (Alice), Craig (Misty) Kitimat, brother Dennis (Wendy) niece Rachel Plymouth, NS, sister Theresa (Rob) nephews Lucas and Ryan Scotsburn, NS, Mother in Law Judy Hayman (John Cameron) Eureka NS, brothers in law John Hayman (Shelly) Westlock, AB, Frank Hayman nieces Campbell and Frankie nephew Luke Stellarton, Aunt Peggy cousins Denise, Beverly (Aaron), Lana, Annette (John) Stellarton, Greg (Kathy) Trenton, Shelly Hines Stellarton and his dog Daisy.
Bruce was preceded by his grandparents Fred & Katherine Vienneau, Fred & Evelyn Wilson, Uncles Dennis and Bruce (Mary Anne), Cousin David and Father in law David Hayman.
Bruce was very proud of his family, especially his two boys. He was very excited to become a grandfather this fall.
Bruce started his working career as a construction millwright at the Waterville Michelin Plant. In 1992 he and Bonnie moved to Labrador City where he was employed by IOCC for 7 years as a Mechanical Technologist, he became a pioneer in predictive preventative maintenance, started oil analysis and vibration and later received his credentials as a specialist. Bruce worked for Lafarge Canada in Bath, Ontario for 3 years and then made his way to Rio Tinto in Kitimat where he has been working for the last 20 years.
Bruce lived his life to the fullest with his family and friends and was a kind generous soul. He was a hockey coach for years, enjoyed many hockey, baseball and camping trips, get togethers and was always welcoming to everyone who came to his garage. Bruce was a lifelong Philadelphia Flyers fan and many a Sundays were spent watching the Pittsburgh Steelers with his best friend Steve. He was a friend to so many and adored by all.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
