It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Betty) Stekelenburg born April 29, 1934 in Trail, B.C. to George and Ivy Ewings of Fruitvale, B.C.
Predeceased by her husband Barthemus (Ben) Stekelenburg, most beloved daughter Darlene Susan Moon, brothers Dave and George Ewings, and sister Ivy Hill. Survived by her sister Doreen (Walter) Duncan, sons Ted (Debbie), Wayne (Carol), and Rick (Vivian) and daughter in law Elaine. Greatly loved by 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one great great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews who all held a special place in her heart.
Her many passions in life included family, baking, sharing her experiences, caring for her garden and pond, and travel, where she made some truly beautiful friendships. Her love for her family was unsurpassable; she guarded them like an old mamma bear!
She passed away peacefully at her son’s home with family by her side. There was a small gathering of family in memory of her.
