In Loving Memory ~
Ed Long, age 79, passed away in Kitimat General Hospital on Friday, August 31, 2023.
In 1969 Ed and a friend of his packed up and hit the road for Kitimat. Ed was employed at Alcan on Security and spent some time in Kemano. After a few years he headed for Edmonton but after a few months, he couldn't stand not being near the mountains so back to Kitimat we came. He went to work for Glacier Concrete for the next 25 years before he retired.
Ed is survived by his wife, Anna Marie, of 47 years, a sister Shirley (Ray) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and brother-in-law Gary (Connie) of Calgary, Alberta.
Ed had a few hobbies for which he will be remembered: camping and travelling and hanging out with his friends having coffee at A & W.
Anna Marie would like to thank the helpful ambulance crews who gave Ed so much help, all the nurses and doctors who cared for him, and all our many friends who stepped in with support. All this help was greatly appreciated and will be remembered in the future.
Heeding Ed's final wishes there will be no service.
