In Loving Memory ~
Dugan was a much-loved son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend. He was born July 28, 1982 in Chilliwack to Gloria and Michael. At 2 years old, he and his 2 sisters were placed into the loving foster care of Ute, Ray and their children. In 1986 they came to parents Rosemary and Ken in Kitimat.
An athlete and artist with a gentle soul, he was not able to heal from his early trauma. He led an increasingly troubled life in various Alberta and BC cities, but mainly in Calgary. Dugan passed away peacefully in his sleep in the Calgary DI at age 41.
Dugan was predeceased by his birth parents, Gloria and Michael. Loved and always remembered by his parents, Rosemary and Ken Maitland, sisters Caroline Maitland (Inness), Florence (Rob) Slanina, Rosalee Brook, half siblings Heather Peters, Angela Hillyard, and George Wiser and many nieces and nephews; foster parents Ute and Ray Beila and their children; and many birth and adoptive Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Dugan's family thanks all those who have supported them at this time and the many individuals, organizations, and institutions who supported Dugan throughout his life.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 @ 10:30 a.m. at Kitimat First United Church, 1180 Kingfisher Ave and will be live streamed https://www.youtube.com/
