Nov 2, 1957 - Dec 17, 2017
With deep sadness we announce the passing of David Robinson on December 17, 2017 at the age of 60. David passed away with his family by his side following a courageous battle with cancer.

David was born in Kitimat where he enjoyed the outdoors and playing sports. He excelled in hockey, lacrosse, and track & field. At 15 David moved to Kamloops to play hockey for the Kamloops Chiefs of the WHL for four seasons, followed by two years in Michigan in the IHL under contract with the Philadelphia Flyers. Returning to Kamloops in 1979 Dave trained to be a mason while working for his father-in-law and in 1984 started his own company - Dave Robinson Masonry, which his sons Ryan and Daniel are proud to carry on. In 2008 he also opened River City Rock Products.

Dave was a tower of strength who was devoted to his family, friends and business. His greatest joy was watching his sons grow up and play hockey. Dave coached many teams over the years and was adamant the kids were to have fun. Dave found new joy in the last four years with the birth of his three grandsons, who all loved to play with Big Poppy.

Dave's huge personality will be greatly missed by Ernesta (Ernie) - his wife of 40 years; sons Ryan (Alison), Daniel (Ashley); grandsons Riley, Luke, Jake; mother Ethel Robinson; siblings Neil (Joan), Linda (Augie) Penner, Patricia (Carl) Gabel, Glen (Madeleine); father-in-law Salvatore Corea; brothers-in-law Frank (Maryanne), Jerry (Elaine); many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.

David was predeceased by his father Donald Robinson in 2001, son Darcy in 2007, and mother-in-law Antonia Corea in 2014.

A Funeral Service and Celebration of Life were held in Kamloops on December 22.

Donations in Dave's memory can be made to the 'Darcy Robinson Memorial Fund' at HSBC Bank - 380 Victoria St, Kamloops, BC, V2C 2A5 - to buy a comfort chair for chemo patients.
