In Loving Memory of a precious daughter
Ciji Samara Graham-Lucyk May 2, 1986 - July 4, 2008
Ciji passed away peacefully at Mills Memorial hospital with her mother, brother, grandparents Ron and Moreen, her boyfriend Ron Therrien, Tony Fonseca, and Dr. Jaco Strydom by her bedside.
She is survived by her loving mother Carol, brother Sean, father Richard, Uncle Ron, grandparents Moreen & Ron Graham and Mary & Joseph Lucyk, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Canada and abroad.
Ciji was born in Edmonton, AB, and moved with her family to Kitimat when she was seventeen months old. She was raised in Kitimat until her early teens, then with her mom and brother moved to Terrace where she graduated from Caledonia Senior Secondary School in 2004. Ciji also studied at Northwest Community College.
It comforts us to know that Ciji had a zest for life and plans for her future. Her ultimate goal was to earn a B.Sc. in Nursing like her mentor Uncle Ron. She loved reading, swimming, music; camping and fishing with her boyfriend Ron and many friends. She enjoyed many trips to Aunt Hazel’s and Uncle Robert’s beach house in Osoyoos, and annual family gatherings at Thanksgiving and Christmas in Kitimat.
A memorial service was held at Mackay’s Funeral Chapel on July 11, 2008 with Charles Meek officiating. Reception was held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 13. Well done ladies. A private ceremony will be held at a later date at the Kitimat Cemetery where Ciji’s cremains will be laid to rest.
Heartfelt thanks to the emergency staff at Mills Memorial Hospital, as well as Drs. Phillips, Gagnon and Strydom and the nursing staff at the ICU. Our gratitude is also extended to Ciji’s friends who stayed the course at the hospital with Ciji and us until the end.
We also wish to thank those who sent cards, flowers and phoned with words of encouragement, concern and hope. To the Therrien family and Tony Fonseca, thank you for your compassion and support. In conclusion, thanks to out of town family and friends who travelled so far just to be here for us.
