In Loving Memory.
It is with great sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Brian Wakita, earlier this year. Although Brian was born in Revelstoke, he grew up in Kitimat. He began dating Josephine (Bovingdon) at 19 years old. They married, built a life together, and raised a family of their own in town.
Brian is greatly missed by his loving wife, Josephine; his children, Jaclyn (Allen) and James (Joe); his first grandchild, Elena; and his six siblings.
Brian was predeceased by his father, Mr. Jim Wakita. He was survived by his mother, Mrs. Miyo Wakita, up until September 2019, when she sadly passed away.
Brian worked hard in the family construction business alongside his brother, Rick. Over the years, they have volunteered countless hours to the community, including the Hirsch Creek Golf and Winter Club, Onion Lake Ski Trails, Cormorant School, the Bill Rich Soccer Fields. Brian coached many of James' hockey and Jaclyn's fastball teams. He was well known by kids (and parents) as someone to approach for fundraisers. Happy to support a good cause, Brian would readily buy raffle tickets and make pledges.
Brian loved playing hockey with the JHW Diggers' hockey team and watching the Ice Demons' games with his mom. A proud vegan, he enjoyed cooking and made delicious food! Brian always gave life 110%!
He often motivated others with his confidence and his generosity. He could be relied upon to help a friend in need and would do anything for his family. We will always remember Brian's strength and his kindness. He was a genuine person who believed the best in people.
We are grateful for the kind support we have received from everyone during this difficult time. It feels unfair to have lost Brian, and we struggle to accept that he is gone. We are thinking of him everyday, and especially
now during the holidays.
We love you. We will always be there for you.
