October 26, 1926 - May 14, 2018
On a beautiful, warm sunny morning day after Mother's Day 2018, with all grace and dignity, Barbara left our world to join her beloved husband Jan, predeceased Dec. 19, 2013 and daughter, Lydia, predeceased Dec 18, 2007.
Barbara passed away very peacefully at her home in Edmonton AB, with her son Stefan and daughter-in-law Carolyn at her bedside.
Barbara was born on October 26, 1926 in Lidzbark, Poland. Living there with her family until the breakout of WWII. Moving to Canada from England after the conclusion of the war effort, Barbara then moved to Mercoal AB, where she met and eventually married her one true love and eternal soul mate - Jan- whom she always referred to as "My Johnny!"
Soon after came Lydia Barbara (Jan. 19,1954) and Stefan Jan (May 5, 1955).
Jan, Barbara, Lydia and Stefan along with a host of enthusiastic Mercoal families moved to Kitimat, BC in 1959.
Barbara and Jan soon became an integral part of the new, vibrant and blossoming community, as well as the small and thriving Polish community, with-in it.
Barbara became employed by the Hudson's Bay Company store in Kitimat, where she worked for 25 years prior to retiring. While at "The Bay" Barbara became head of the Ladies Wear Department, becoming friend and confidant to the majority of the ladies in the town. Dressing them all for many years, in the finest wear that could be found.
Barbara was a hard, honest and tireless worker, totally devoted to whatever she took part in. The Hudson Bay Ladies, Kitimat town planning, the Ladies of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and the Royal Canadian Legion were just some of the organizations and foundations dear to her heart.
Being an avid outdoors person Barbara loved being in the sunshine when she could - camping, fishing and hunting with Jan.
Barbara had an unusual zest for life. Nothing mattered more to her than her family and friends. She loved to be around them at all times, many memorable evenings were spent at The Bay and Rod and Gun Club functions. Often times entertaining their many friends at their home.
Barbara and Jan lived and loved every minute of the 50 years they spent in Kitimat.
Moving to Nanaimo, BC in 2007, to be with their beloved daughter Lydia, who very unfortunately passed away on Dec. 18, 2007.
Relocating in late 2013 to Edmonton AB to be with their son Stefan and wife Carolyn, where Jan passed away on Dec. 19, 2013.
Barbara lived peacefully and happily, making a multitude of friends and memories, until her passing on May 14, 2018.
Barbara is survived by all her treasured family and friends, whom she loved dearly, spoke to and thought about every day. All, in her heart forever. As per Barbara's wishes, she wanted no ceremony but to have her ashes spread with "Her Johnny", In the places that they loved to be in.

"Forever Together - In Peace, Love and Harmony."
