Avelina was born to Genivieve Gill and Raymond Norman in Roddickton Newfoundland on the Great Northern Penninsula. She leaves behind her husband Peter and daughter Lee-Ann Ennis (Scott Hodges) and son Dan Ennis (Amber Muzychka), grandchildren Sophia and Charlotte Hodges, Thomas and Charlie Ennis, loved their Nanny. Many more relatives in Victoria, Dryden and Newfoundland Labrador will miss their Sister or Aunt Avie dearly.

Avie worked at both the old and new Kitimat General Hospital as Materials Manager and member of the Hospital Emplyees Union. Avie was very good at her job, ordering, receiving and stocking all supplies for the hospital, making friends everywhere she went.

Avie loved skiing, swimming, bowling and golfing. Fishing was second nature, Avie would return home from fishing the Kitimat River with her girlfriends carrying a 30-40 lb salmon. Avie canned and smoked salmon, she was a good baker of bread and Newfie toutons.

Fishing and boating down the channel were a highlight of Avie and Peter's retired days in Kitimat, but it was the many terrific friends made over 45 years that kept Avie and Peter in the North. The Ennis family are very grateful for the outpouring of love and kind words from so many of Avie and Peter's friends.

Avie loved family, friends, food and music. Listen to the song 'Music and Friends,' by Simani and think of Avie's loving smile and laugh. She was a beautiful, strong woman, we will all miss her dearly.

The family would like to thank health care providers who were involved in Avie's care at Mountain View Lodge in Kitimat and Evergreen Care in Powell River.

Call your loved ones, stay connected and help others get through these difficult times.
