October 14, 1951 – May 29, 2019
Anne was born October 14, 1951 in Kamloops, BC, the 3rd of 4 siblings to Nettie and Malcolm Dan. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael, and moved to Kitimat, BC in the early 1970’s.She and Mike grew up with many other young couples who became life-long friends. Anne worked as a bank teller at Scotiabank and Mike worked as an electrician at Eurocan. Soon after Trevor, Ryan, and Candice were born.
Anne dedicated her life to her family in Kitimat, with visits home to southern BC in the summertime to reconnect with extended family. She packed lunches, helped out in school, and provided a warm home while Mike worked shift work for many years. Once the kids were school-age, she went back to work at the bank part-time.
In 2002, Anne was dealt a severe blow with Mike’s diagnosis of cancer and his early death at 50 years old. However, she survived this loss and continued to thrive with the support of her strong friendships and close family. Anne visited the kids down south every summer and welcomed them home for Christmases.
She always picked up the phone to check on her family and friends, and talked to her mother Nettie every week. In fall 2018 Anne was diagnosed with rare form of liver cancer, although she had been healthy for so many years. She continued to show strength in the face of adversity and walked the last part of her journey with dignity, grace, and love for all those around her.
The family would like to thank all who have helped out during Anne’s last few months. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kamloops Hospice Association, Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home in Kamloops. Predeceased by Malcolm “Sonny” Dan, Nettie Dan (Nee.
